Vanu to deploy SDR base station in India

Vanu said it has entered into a partnership with the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT), a department of the Government of India, to deploy its Anywave software radio GSM base station as part of an infrastructure buildout designed to bring wireless access and broadband solutions to the country's rural areas. The Anywave is the first FCC-certified software radio. It consists of a base station transceiver and base station controller, each a software radio application that runs on off-the-shelf components.
