May 14, 2008 5:17 PM, - MRT

Virtutech announced that General Dynamics’ C4 Systems unit is deploying the company’s Simics software—which can simulate satellite ground systems hardware—to test and debug the U.S. Navy’s Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) program prior to its launch. MUOS is the U.S. military’s next-generation narrowband tactical satellite communications system designed to enhance ground communications for mobile forces. General Dynamics C4 Systems is leading the development and deployment of the MUOS ground system that provides communications and control interfaces between the system satellites and existing and future Department of Defense terrestrial communication networks, according to Virtutech.
