Harris receives multimillion dollar military contracts

Harris Corp. received a four-year, $33.5 million contract from ViaSat, Inc. The contract is for additional hardware used in Multifunctional Information Distribution System terminals that provide U.S. military forces with secure, jam-resistant digital, tactical communications.

The company also was awarded a three-year, $66 million contract by the U.S. Navy for pre-production and testing of the Hawklink satellite system that transmits tactical video, radar, acoustic and other sensor data from Navy helicopters to their host surface ships.
