Sep 1, 2007 12:00 PM, By Glenn Bischoff

At the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials annual conference, RELM Wireless demonstrated a Project 25-compliant portable radio that the company is billing as the industry's smallest, lightest Class A spec radio. The KNG P150, which will be marketed under RELM's BK Radio brand, will be sent to the FCC for type acceptance in September, with product expected to be available in May 2008, said Dave Storey, RELM president and CEO. A VHF version will be available first, with UHF, 700 MHz and 800 MHz devices to follow, Storey said.
