Roof-mounted antennas launched

Electro-Magwave of Valley View, Ohio, introduced the EM-M11002 low-profile broadband roof-mounted antenna. The omnidirectional antenna operates in the 746 to 960 MHz frequency band and offers 2 dBi of gain. The company also unveiled its EM-M11003 roof-mounted antenna that offers 3 dB of gain and operates in the 764 to 869 MHz frequency band.

Module sends emergency messaging to users, groups

CentraAlert launched the Network Messaging module, which provides computer pop-up messages to users or to groups across a network, or through the Internet to wireless devices such as laptops, cell phones, pagers, faxes or Ethernet-enabled radios. According to the company, emergency messages are displayed on the top view of a mobile device and include a user-acknowledgement button that, when pressed, sends a confirmation receipt e-mail to dispatchers.

P25 trunking added to test set

Aeroflex announced a new option for its 3900 series of radio test systems that supports P25 trunking in the VHF, UHF, 700 MHz and 800 MHz bands. Features include the ability to simultaneously generate a control channel and traffic channel with duplex offset capability to go from 1 MHz to 2.7 GHz. In addition, the new trunking option lets P25 end users quickly establish pre-defined setups for quick recall when testing large numbers of radios, the company said.

The company also launched an entry-level version of its 6113 Digital Radio Test Set used for testing mobile base stations. The test set, targeted primarily at emerging markets, is being offered with one A-bis interface that transports signaling protocols, as well as compressed voice and bit-error-rate measurements, encryption, support for two of the four GSM frequency bands, and software support.

Updated ROIP software

Radio-over-IP solutions provider Catalyst Communications unveiled release 5.0 of its Total Control Package, including its interoperability server and the ability to route radio voice traffic between IP networks. The new version integrates a public-safety agency's existing network firewalls and network address translation devices, which lets voice communications from first-responder radio systems transmit between proprietary radio systems using existing IP networks, according to the company.
