RFID tag sales expected to reach 1.7 billion in 2007

Market research firm IDTechEx projected that more than 1.7 billion RFID tags will be sold in 2007. By year-end, the total RFID global market value — including hardware, systems and integrations — will equal $4.96 billion. The market is expected to rise to $27 billion by 2017, according to the firm.
