Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon platform, built for universal mobility for next-generation electronics. At the core of the technology is the Scorpion 1 GHz microprocessor paired with a 128-bit single-instruction, multiple-data capability and the company’s next-generation 600 MHz digital-signal processor for accelerated multimedia applications. The product also delivers mobile broadband capabilities, including CDMA2000/EV-DO, WCDMA (UMTS)/HSDPA/HSUPA, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
“This was really our expansion beyond the traditional cellular market into other portable and consumer electronics devices that we feel need ubiquitous connectivity to mobile broadband to advance in functionality,” said Qualcomm spokesperson Kira Lee.
Sample chipsets are expected to become available in Q3 2007, according to Lee.ONLINE SHOWCASEGet vendor information in this special online showcase. |
