Texas Instruments to leverage ZigBee

Dallas, Texas-based Texas Instruments announced that the company will leverage ZigBee technology, low-power radio frequency and mobile connectivity to develop solutions for ultra-low-power Bluetooth wireless technology, also known as Wibree, by tapping into its current radio technology in the 2.4 GHz frequency band. According to the company, the technology will support mobile handsets and portable, low-power devices including interoperability between devices.
