University health system sends sonographs wirelessly

Nov 28, 2006 11:01 AM

Toronto’s University Health Network and Mount Sinai Hospital have deployed SonoSite’s MicroMaxx system across three emergency rooms. The system offers wireless connectivity, so an emergency-room sonographer can transmit images to a centralized picture-archiving and communication system housed in a radiology suite. The radiologist then can view images and provide real-time diagnostic evaluations to emergency physicians, according to SonoSite.
