Motorola, Microsoft to combine on first responder applications
Oct 7, 2005 4:24 PM
Microsoft and Motorola jointly announced an initiative through which the companies will jointly develop a series of software applications that would let first responders improve their handling and storage of incident information.
Motorola will develop the justice, law enforcement on public-safety applications that will ride over Microsoft platforms including the .NET Framework and the Windows Server System.
The companies said the applications will be designed to increase the quality of information available at a scene, improve the timeliness of information delivery to first responders and automate mission-critical functions for single- or multi-agency jurisdictions. Motorola’s records-management and computer-aided dispatch solutions will be the first applications to be affected by the agreement.
