National Hispanic Corporate Council selects Nextel

Jan 14, 2005 3:51 PM

The National Hispanic Corporate Council (NHCC) has named Nextel Communications as its official wireless service provider. A big selling point was Nextel’s Direct Connect walkie-talkie service, according to Carlos Soto, NHCC president and CEO. "During our last member meeting, Nextel's nationwide Direct Connect service greatly enhanced the ability for NHCC staff and its board members to stay in constant instant communication,” Soto said in a statement. “It was our most successful member meeting."

The NHCC is a not-for-profit organization that advocates increased employment, leadership and business opportunities for Hispanics in corporate America. Nextel, an NHCC member, will provide wireless phones and services including digital cellular, mobile messaging and Internet access-in addition to Direct Connect-which will enable NHCC staff to communicate with each other as well as the organization’s 60-member corporations.
