Oct 7, 2005 12:47 PM

Wi-Fi solutions provider SpectraLink has appointed Masood Garahi to the position of chief technology officer. Garahi also will serve as the company’s executive vice president.

Prior to joining SpectraLink, Garahi served as chairman and CEO of MeshNetworks--which was acquired by Motorola late last year--where he led the company’s spin off from ITT. A 25-year high-tech veteran, Garahi also served as chief technology officer for WLAN security solutions provider Roving Planet, where he was responsible for engineering and R&D, as well as leadership positions at TV Guide, Skytel and the Institute of Technology Development. He holds 10 technical patents.

“Masood’s extensive experience in wide area and local area networking, RF, communications and messaging applications will be a real asset to the company,” SpectraLink President and CEO John Elms said in a statement.
