Symbol Technologies executive to chair Wi-Fi Alliance

Clint Chaplin, wireless security advisor for enterprise mobility solutions vendor Symbol Technologies, has been named chairman of the Wi-Fi Alliance. Prior to the appointment, Chapin served the alliance as technical chair.
Chaplin co-founded and currently serves as the chairperson for the IEEE 802.11r task group for wireless roaming, and previously served as Symbol’s delegate for the IEEE 802.11i task group for wireless security. He also helped implement the Kerberos security standard into Symbol’s wireless products.
