Motorola teams with Texas Instruments on 3G, WiMAX

Motorola teamed with Texas Instruments (TI) to develop 3G, WiMAX and other devices that meet next-generation wireless standards, the companies announced. Motorola’s next-gen, 3G handsets are expected to be released in 2008 and will be based on TI’s 3G, OMAP 3 architecture for mobile phones. TI also is supporting Motorola’s mobile WiMAX initiative that supports voice, video and data for low-power mobile applications.
