ISSI:
Opening the door to interoperability

Interoperable communications between first responders was an important goal of the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials' Project 25 digital communications standard. That goal finally was realized with the development of the Inter-RF Subsystem Interface, or ISSI, which lets P25-compatible devices from different manufacturers communicate with each other. Participate in this live, interactive webinar to learn:

  • How the ISSI was developed
  • How the interface works
  • How the interface is being used today
  • How it might be used in the future
  • And what it all means to first responders

Moderated by MRT Editor Glenn Bischoff, the webinar's expert panel includes:

  • Roy McClellan, EADS director of standards and regulatory and chairman of the APCO P25 ISSI Task Group
  • Craig Jorgenson, APCO P25 project director
  • Charles Werner, Charlottesville (Va.) Fire Chief and SAFECOM Executive Committee member

Participants not only will benefit from the panelists' insights and perspectives regarding the ISSI and its importance to first responder communications, but also will be given ample opportunity in this live session to get answers to their questions concerning this vital component of the second phase of the Project 25 standard.
